Wear Control Welding was founded in 2001 by Leonard Scrantz, after recognizing a need for specialized welding and machine‑shop repair work in our area. Before that, he operated a non‑destructive testing company he started in 1984. After his passing in 2024, the business is now proudly run by his daughters, continuing his legacy in the oilfield industry.
We provide specialized welding and machining repair for downhole drilling tools, MWD equipment, and other oilfield components, using advanced processes to rebuild worn parts and support energy companies across the United States.
We operate multiple CNC and manual lathes, Haas mills, hollow‑spindle Mazaks, PTA and hot‑wire TIG systems, cladding units, boring bars, band saws, and industrial compressors, supported by Miller, Lincoln, and Jetline welding equipment. Our setup is built for accurate, repeatable repair work.
If you’re arriving with an oversized load, trailer, or large truck, please use the driveway on the right side of the building when facing the shop. This entrance provides easier access and safer maneuvering for bigger equipment.
